Holly Gamble

Franklin Township Public Schools
Secondary Special Education Supervisor
Holly Beckford Gamble holds the position of Secondary Special Education Supervisor with the Franklin Township Public Schools in Somerset, New Jersey. She attended Howard University, majoring in English. Upon graduating, her plan was to attend Law School. However, while studying for the Bar Exam she began substitute teaching.
As the say goes, the rest is history. While substitute teaching as a Special Education teacher, she fell in love with teaching and decided to continue her family’s strong legacy in education. Her great- grandparents, grandparents and parents all taught both in the collegiate and public-school levels. Holly’s ancestors were teachers in the Underground Railroad.
She began her career as a high school Special Education teacher in the Newark, New Jersey Public School System. It was there after eleven years of teaching that she decided to pursue National Board Certification as an Exceptional Needs Specialist. Holly became the first Special Education teacher in the state of New Jersey to achieve National Board Certification. She went on to become a Resource Teacher Coordinator/Coach of high school Special Education teachers.
Upon relocation, to Dallas, Texas she taught and served as the Department Chair for Special Education at “The Great James Madison” High School in Dallas, Texas. She was instrumental in working with the Dallas Independent Schools District’s Office of Professional Development in establishing a National Board Certification Program.
Holly holds a Master's Degree in Special Education from New Jersey City University, as well as Educational Administration from Kean University. Her love of teaching and learning led her to renew her National Board Certificate once. Although she is currently an administrator, she plans to renew her National Board Certificate for a second time during the 2021 – 2022 school year.
